Music Movement: Vision & Mission
Music Movement exists to empower children through music education.
We believe that establishing this foundation is what will set our children apart, giving them the necessary skills and development to reach their full potential. This is Education for Life.
Music Movement is built on 4 experiences that we believe every child should have for healthy brain development: Language, Music, Imaginary Play & Nutrition.
What We Do
Our Music Movement programme includes many benefits ranging from pattern recognition (which is foundational to assist with the learning of mathematics) to crossing the midline, which helps the left and right hemispheres of the brain to connect. The more they connect, the more optimally a child performs at any given task.
• 10-month programme consisting of one lesson per week.
• Musical activities where kids get to participate by playing with various percussion instruments.
• Singing and movement activities aimed at developing coordination, vocabulary and memory. It encourages the child to express their emotions, improves their ability to communicate and builds their confidence.
• A Musical Concept where we explore symbols, high and low notes, major and minor chords and much more.
• Nutrition – We provide a warm, nutritious meal to every child that participates in our programme.
• We offer training and coaching of our music programme to teachers, volunteers and unemployed youth. We aim to create jobs and sustainable employment in our communities.

As a registered Non-Profit Organisation, Music Movement will greatly appreciate your generous donation. Your financial contribution will assist with the running of our music education programme.
Our past experiences as music facilitators in private schools made us realise the need that exists in disadvantaged community schools. We believe that through music education and brain development programmes such as ours, every child deserves to have an opportunity to access foundational education, even when they cannot afford it.
We require funding to keep our programme in our current schools, as well as to grow our reach to other schools.
We are a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) and can issue donors with Section 18A tax certificates.
